The Torrance Sebastian Project’s “Violent Man” was released on Friday, October 3rd.
Violent Man explores the theme of domestic abuse. Torrance takes an intimate look into the mind of the victim, revealing the aftermath of abuse, and of how escapism can play a role in coping. Violent Man is an uncomfortable confession and an intensely beautiful piece. Taking instrumental influence from English bands like Radiohead and Travis, Violent Man demands the listener’s attention and doesn’t let go.

Lyric:
I was a target as blind as they come.
I’m hiding a secret I hope doesn’t show.
I can’t turn away from a seductive hand.
It’s lovingly poisoned, but I didn’t know.
He showed me why I should be afraid.
Suddenly captive in a fit of rage.
I take it again, again, and again.
A fragile thing dies with a violent man.
I had a vision in the sea of despair
of someone familiar, of someone I’ve lost.
There was a girl caught in the aftermath.
She gave the illusion that I could be saved.
I take it again, again, and again.
A fragile thing dies with a violent man.
I’d run if I could but where would I go.
This isn’t love. Love is too beautiful.
This isn’t love. Love is too beautiful.
I see my reflection, my damaged expression.
A constant reminder I’ll never change.
I take it again, again, and again.
A fragile thing dies with a violent man.
I’d run if I could but where would I go.
Fragile is life with a violent man.
This isn’t love. Love is too beautiful.
This isn’t love. Love is too beautiful.
I see my reflection.
My damaged expression.
